Julian Manney Killed in Bakersfield Big Rig Crash on Highway 99 near Highway 119
Bakersfield, California (March 24, 2020) – The man who was killed in a big rig crash early Sunday morning in Bakersfield has been identified as Julian Manney, 59, of Los Angeles, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
The wreck happened shortly after 4 a.m. March 22, on Highway 99 just north of Highway 119.
According to CHP, a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling northbound on Highway 99 when it was rear-ended by a big rig.
The impact pushed both vehicles off the side of the roadway.
Julian Manney Killed in Bakersfield Crash
Manney, who was the driver of the Jetta, was killed in the crash.
The driver of the big rig, Jeffrey Culver, 43, was taken to Kern Medical Center with moderate injuries.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
