National City, California (February 26, 2020) – A female pedestrian was killed after an auto-pedestrian collision on Tuesday morning in National City, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deadly crash happened at around 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, at East Plaza Boulevard near Euclid Avenue.

As per the CHP officials, a westbound car, for unknown reasons, hit a woman that was crossing the roadway.

The woman suffered fatal injuries due to the crash. The name of the deceased was not immediately released awaiting notification of next of kin.

The westbound lanes between Euclid and Harbison Avenue were closed by authorities following the collision.

Authorities confirmed that the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officials.

No additional information regarding this crash was provided.
