Two Seriously Hurt in San Marcos Collision on South Rancho Santa Fe Road and Melrose Drive

San Marcos, California (February 25, 2020) – A collision involving a suspected DUI driver left two people seriously hurt on Monday evening in San Marcos, according to the authorities.

The incident took place at about 7:45 p.m. February 24, on South Rancho Santa Fe Road and Melrose Drive.

According to authorities, a 19-year-old Vista woman allegedly caused a crash involving her vehicle and three others.

2 Seriously Injured in San Marcos Multi-Vehicle Crash

The Vista woman and one other person sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was taken to Palomar Medical Center while the other patient was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas.

Police later arrested the 19-year-old woman on suspicion of DUI and Child Endangerment. She was booed into the Vista Detention Facility.

The crash is under investigation.
