San Diego, California (February 6, 2020) – A man was on Wednesday afternoon hospitalized with major injuries after being struck by a vehicle at a parking lot in the Midway District, according to San Diego police.

The crash happened at The Home Depot off Sports Arena Boulevard and Kemper Street just after 4 p.m. February 5.

Police said a man was struck by a Toyota Prius at the parking lot for unknown reasons.

Man Critical after Midway District Pedestrian Collision

The victim, identified as a 57-year-old man, was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening internal injuries.

The driver, an 80-year-old man, remained at the scene.

Police said speed, alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be factors in the crash.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
