1 Killed, 5 Injured in Car Accident on Cottonwood Road near East Pacheco Road in Bakersfield
Bakersfield, California (January 8, 2020) – A child has died following a multi-car crash that left five other people injured on Tuesday morning in Bakersfield.
The accident happened on Cottonwood Road near East Pacheco Road at about 3:34 a.m. January 7, according to the California Highway Patrol
32-year-old Evaristo Perez Nunez was driving a car on Cottonwood Road when he collided with another vehicle for unknown reasons.
The authorities said a third vehicle was involved in the accident.
Four children and two adults were injured in the accident and were taken to a local hospital.
One of the children reportedly died while undergoing treatment.
Nunez was arrested and booked into the Kern County jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing serious injury.
No other information was provided.
The authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
