Hawthorne, CA: At Least 1 Killed in 405 Freeway Crash Tuesday Night
CHP Investigating Fatal Hawthorne Car Collision on 405 Freeway near West Rosecrans Avenue
Hawthorne, California (January 8, 2020) – At least one person died in a two-vehicle collision that happened Tuesday night on 405 Freeway in Hawthorne, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at about 9:45 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the freeway near West Rosecrans Avenue.
A Honda Civic and an Infinity SUV were involved in the crash.
CHP said at least one person died in the accident. One person was found by first responders laying on the ground next to one of the cars involved in the collision.
Officials issued a SigAlert closing all northbound lanes for an unknown period. Motorists were being diverted at the Inglewood off-ramp.
CHP is investigating the crash.
