Driver Killed in Oakland Accident on 580 Freeway near Lakeshore Avenue
Oakland, California (December 18, 2019) – A driver was killed after a traffic crash early Wednesday morning in Oakland, according to a local news source.
The deadly crash was logged at 4:06 a.m. on westbound 580 Freeway, just east of Lakeshore Avenue.
As per the report, three vehicles were involved in the collision.

Officials said that a Mercedes driver lost control of their vehicle and spun out in the westbound lanes as heavy rains fell in the location. A pickup truck then crashed into the Mercedes.
The two motorists got out of their car and the pickup truck driver was fatally hit by a Honda sedan.
The impact threw the driver’s body into the eastbound lanes. The name of the deceased person was not immediately released.
Officials closed all lanes on the busy freeway and traffic taken off the highway at Grand Avenue following the crash. The roadway was re-opened as of 5:47 a.m.
An investigation is underway.
