John Hutchings Injured in Fatal Car Crash on Highway 101 in Paso Robles
Victim Hurt in Paso Robles Car Accident on Highway 101 ID’d as John Hutchings

Paso Robles, California (December 15, 2019) – 59-year-old John Hutchings of Paso Robles has been identified as the victim injured in Paso Roble’s fatal traffic accident late on Friday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash happened along Highway 101 near Main Street shortly after 11:00 p.m. December 13.
As per the CHP report, Hutchings was driving a 2015 Honda CR-V at 60 mph in the No. 2 lane of the highway when a 1998 Ford Explorer driven by 35-year-old Jose Toral of Atascadero struck him.
Toral, who was going north in the No. 1 lane, turned to the right and rear-ended the Honda.
Due to the impact, the CR-V slammed into the center divider while the Explorer went off the road, crashed into a sign, a tree and a fence. The Ford came to a rest on its roof on the frontage road.

Toral was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Hutchings suffered minor injuries in the crash. He was attended to by paramedics who responded to the scene shortly after the wreck.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident.
The CHP is gathering more evidence to determine the cause of the accident.
