Woman Killed in 3-Vehicle Crash on West Olive Avenue in Merced
61-Year-Old Woman Killed in Merced Car Accident on West Olive Avenue and Austin Avenue
Merced, California (December 9, 2019) – A 61-year-old woman was killed Monday afternoon in a traffic accident involving three vehicles in Merced, according to authorities.
The tragic crash took place at around 2:00 p.m. on West Olive Avenue and Austin Avenue.
Authorities said a white 1994 Toyota Camry, driven by the 61-year-old woman, was turning left onto West Olive Avenue from Austin Avenue when for an unknown reason, the Camry was hit by a 2001 Toyota Tundra that was heading eastbound on West Olive Avenue.
A third vehicle was involved in the crash and sustained minor damage.
Woman Dies Following Fatal Multi-Car Crash on West Olive Avenue in Merced
The woman, whose name was withheld pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Tundra was identified as Dan Gruych, 72. His condition was not immediately known.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered factors in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation by Merced Police.
