Wally Driskell ID’d as Man Killed in Oakley Car Accident on Bethel Island Road near East Cypress Road
Oakley, California (December 6, 2019) – One of the three people hospitalized after a head-on collision last Wednesday evening in Oakley has succumbed to his injuries, according to authorities.
The crash was reported just before 6:00 p.m. November 27, on Bethel Island Road, just north of East Cypress Road.
Wally Driskell, 69, of Bethel Island was driving a Dodge sedan southbound on Bethel Island Road when he was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle.
Emergency crews responded to the incident and extricated Driskell from his vehicle.

Driskell was then airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Two occupants of the second vehicle, including a pregnant woman, were transported to Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch with minor and moderate injuries.
Bethel Island Road was closed between Cypress and Sandmound Road as the police investigated the crash.
