Buellton, California (November 26, 2019) – A man was arrested following a hit-and-run collision that critically injured a pedestrian on Sunday evening in Buellton, according to a local news source.
The incident happened near Avenue of Flags and Highway 246 on Sunday, November 24.
According to the report, a Buellton man in his 40s was hit by a vehicle believed to be a gray Chevrolet Silverado. The driver fled the scene after the incident.
Emergency crews responded to the incident and airlifted the pedestrian to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with critical injuries.
A witness who followed the hit-and-run driver provided a description of the vehicle to the authorities.
Police later arrested the driver on suspicion of hit-and-run and DUI. He was identified as Luis Alberto Ledesma, 26, of Santa Maria.
Police said Ledesma was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on a $100,000 bail.
