Bakersfield, California (October 26, 2019) – The woman who was killed in a traffic collision involving a big rig on Thursday evening in Bakersfield has been identified as Kylee Jordyn Moss, 27, of Bakersfield, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.

The collision happened at about 5:35 p.m. October 24, on Highway 178 and Rancheria Road.

Police said a green BMW SUV and a tractor trailer were involved in the crash. The BMW was reportedly traveling westbound on Highway 178 at a high rate of speed when it collided with the tractor-trailer, which was making a turn onto Highway 178 from Rancheria Road.

Moss was riding as a passenger in the SUV and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the SUV was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the big rig was not injured.

Police are working to determine what caused the crash and whether alcohol or drugs were involved.
