Jacob Contreras ID’d as Boy Injured in West Covina Crash at Cameron and Glendora Avenues

West Covina, California (October 15, 2019) – The boy who was hospitalized with major injuries after a crash that left his mother and stepfather dead early Saturday morning in West Covina has been identified as Jacob Contreras, 13, according to a local news source.
The wreck happened at about 2 a.m. October 12, in the area of Cameron and Glendora avenues.
The report indicates that a carjacking incident was reported at around 9 p.m. Friday in the 15000 block of Badillo Street in Baldwin Park. The suspect, fleeing in a stolen 2010 Jeep Patriot, drove into West Covina and was spotted by West Covina police who began a pursuit after the suspect failed to stop for them.
The suspect was northbound on Glendora Avenue and crashed into an eastbound vehicle at the intersection of Cameron Avenue, ejecting Jacob’s mother and stepfather. His father was pronounced deceased at the scene while his mother was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

Jacob sustained serious injuries including a broken leg, a punctured lung, a fractured pelvis, and facial fractures.
The suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment and later arrested.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
