Thong Nguyen Arrested after Costa Mesa Crash on 55 Freeway near Victoria Street
Costa Mesa, California (October 15, 2019) – Thong Nguyen, 25, of Westmnister was arrested after a suspected DUI wrong-way collision that left several people hospitalized early Sunday morning in Costa Mesa, according to a local news source.
The wreck happened at around 3:36 a.m. October 13, on the 55 Freeway just north of Victoria Street.
CHP said Thong Nguyen was driving a Toyota Camry northbound in the southbound lanes of the Freeway when he collided with an oncoming GMC Sierra. The Camry came to a stop on the freeway and was struck shortly after by a southbound Ford Expedition.
Thong Nguyen Arrested after Costa Mesa DUI Crash
Thong Nguyen, his passenger and the driver of the GMC were all taken to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver of the Ford was transported to Hoag Hospital with minor injuries.
Thong was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The crash is under investigation.
