Oxnard, CA: Bicyclist Struck, Killed by Truck on East Wooley Road
45-Year-Old Man Dies in Oxnard Bicycle Accident on East Wooley Road near Saviers Road

Oxnard, California (October 10, 2019) – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer late Thursday morning in Oxnard, police said.
The deadly bicycle accident, which was reported shortly after 11:30 a.m., happened in the area of East Wooley Road, just west of Saviers Road.
According to the police, a 45-year-old man was riding his bicycle eastbound in the westbound lane of Wooley Road when he was hit by a 2019 Freightliner tractor-trailer that was heading westbound on Wooley.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family or next of kin.
The driver of the truck, a 55-year-old man, fled the scene after the accident. A short time later, the police found the tractor-trailer and determined its driver was not aware the vehicle had hit the bicyclist.
The driver cooperated with authorities. It’s undetermined if alcohol or drugs were factors in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
