Veronica Maldonado Arrested after El Centro Bicycle Crash on Highway 111
El Centro, California (October 7, 2019) – The driver who was arrested after a hit-and-run crash that left one bicyclist dead late last month in El Centro has been identified as Veronica R. Maldonado, 31, of El Centro, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident happened on Highway 111 Sunday, September 29.
According to the CHP, Maldonado was driving on Highway 111 when, for an unknown reason, she allowed her vehicle to drift off the road and struck four bicyclists who were traveling northbound.

One of the bicyclists, identified as Emeterio Millan, 44, died in the crash. Two other victims suffered minor injuries and the third victim had severe injuries.
Maldonado fled the scene, but was later arrested by authorities. She was booked into Imperial County Jail on charges of felony hit-and-run and driving without a license.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
