Eddie Chronister ID’d as San Luis Obispo Man Killed Roseville Pedestrian Crash on I-80 near Douglas Boulevard
Roseville, California (October 4, 2019) – The San Luis Obispo man who was fatally hit by a vehicle early Thursday morning in Roseville has been identified as Eddie Chronister, 40, according to the Placer County coroner’s office.
The wreck happened at about 12:45 a.m. October 3, on I-80 near Douglas Boulevard.
CHP said Chronister was walking southbound in the westbound lanes of I-80 when he was hit by a 1999 Toyota Camry driven by a 90-year-old Sacramento man.
The impact threw Chronister into the No. 2 lane and he was hit by a Ford F-150 truck that had been traveling behind the Camry and swerved to avoid the stopped vehicle.
Eddie Chronister Dies in Roseville Pedestrian Crash
Chronister was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The drivers of the two vehicles remained at the scene after the crash.
CHP said alcohol and drugs were unlikely factors in the crash.
The incident is under investigation.
