4 Hurt in Chowchilla Crash at Road 22 and Avenue 24
Chowchilla, California (October 2, 2019) – Four people were injured after a traffic crash late Tuesday morning in Chowchilla, according to a local news source.
The crash happened at around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, at Road 22 and Avenue 24 near the Central California Women’s Facility and Valley State Prison.
As per the report, a motorhome was travelling north on Road 22 when it allegedly ran a stop sign at the junction with Avenue 24 and hit a northbound white Dodge pickup truck. The impact sent the pickup off the roadway into a dry irrigation ditch. The motorhome, carrying a family from Germany, wrapped around a utility pole at the northeast corner of the intersection.
Motorhome versus Car Accident at Road 22 and Avenue 24
Emergency crews responded to the scene to attend to the injured parties. The truck driver sustained minor to moderate injuries including cuts to his face and head as a result of the accident.
Three motorhome passengers suffered moderate injuries due to the crash. The four victims were taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The names of the patient and their current condition were not immediately released.
An investigation is underway.
