Robert Flores Nuevo Car Collision on Ramona Expressway near Martin Street
Nuevo, California (October 2, 2019) – A 25-year-old Cathedral City man who died in a car collision that happened Saturday morning in Nuevo has been identified.
Authorities said Robert Flores was involved in a two-vehicle accident that happened at around 5:30 a.m. on Ramona Expressway, just east of Martin Street.
The California Highway Patrol said a 2013 Nissan Maxima and a 2013 Mercedes-Benz ML 350 were involved in the crash.
Officers said Flores was driving the Nissan eastbound on Ramona Expressway and a 26-year-old North Hollywood resident was driving the Mercedes westbound on the same street. The Nissan crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with the Mercedes.
Flores was transported to Riverside University Health System for treatment but unfortunately, died of his injuries. The driver of the Mercedes suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the same hospital.
Authorities said alcohol or drugs might have been a factor in the collision.
