Jaime Curiel Killed in Lake Elsinore Motorcycle Accident on Highway 74
Jaime Curiel ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Lake Elsinore Crash on Highway 74 (Ortega Highway)

Lake Elsinore, California (October 1, 2019) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who was killed Monday afternoon in a traffic accident in the Lake Elsinore as Jaime Curiel, 37, of Lake Elsinore.
The fatal crash took place at around 12:50 p.m. Monday, September 30 on Highway 74 near Lookout Roadhouse. Highway 74 also known as the Ortega Highway.
According to reports, Curiel was riding a sports bike-type motorcycle eastbound on Highway 74, about two miles west of Grand Avenue while a man was driving a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer.
Curiel was exiting the curve in the roadway at a high rate of speed and at the same time, the Mitsubishi driver was turning left into his driveway. The two cars eventually collided head-on.
Curiel was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:00 p.m. A man from Lake Elsinore who was riding in the Mitsubishi was uninjured.
One lane of Highway 74 was closed following the accident.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
