1 Bicyclist Killed, 3 Others Injured in El Centro Crash on Highway 111 Sunday

El Centro, California (September 30, 2019) – A 44-year-old bicyclist was killed and three others were injured Sunday morning in a hit-and-run accident in El Centro, according to a local news report.
The fatal crash happened Sunday, September 29 on Highway 111.
The California Highway Patrol said the four bicyclists who were Mexican nationals were heading northbound on Highway 111 when a vehicle drifted off the road and hit the group.
One of the cyclists, whose name has not been disclosed, died in the crash.
Two other cyclists sustained minor injuries while the third victim had severe injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved, only identified as a 31-year-old woman, did not stop to render aid to the victims and fled the scene. The suspect was later arrested and taken into the Imperial County Jail on charges of a felony hit-and-run and being an unlicensed driver.
The crash remains under investigation.
