Hayward Man Killed in Walnut Creek Truck Crash on 680 Freeway near Treat Boulevard

Walnut Creek, California (September 27, 2019) – A man from Hayward has been identified as the person killed after a traffic crash involving a dump truck early Friday morning in Walnut Creek, according to a local news source.
The deadly crash happened at around 2:00 a.m. Friday, on southbound Interstate 680 Freeway near Treat Boulevard.
As per the report, a Nissan Sentra swerved across several lanes for unknown reasons before crashing into a dump truck. The impact caused the Nissan to roll into the freeway’s center concrete wall.
Hayward Man Killed in Walnut Creek Dump Truck Accident
The Nissan driver identified as a man from Hayward was extricated from his vehicle and was declared dead at the scene. The name of the victim was not immediately released awaiting notification of next of kin.
The dump truck driver identified as a 35-year-old man was not hurt in the crash.
It was reported that the Nissan driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
The Nissan sustained significant damage as a result of the crash.
The roadway was cleared as of 4:25 a.m.
