Three Injured in Harbor City Crash near Vermont Avenue and 253rd Street
Harbor City, California (September 24, 2019) – Three people were injured when a driver in a suspected stolen vehicle crashed into a homeless encampment in the Harbor City area early Tuesday morning.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash took place at around 2:30 a.m. in the area of Vermont Avenue and 253rd Street.
Police said a vehicle that had been reported stolen and briefly pursued by the authorities, was later involved in a crash, ending up on top of a tent with three people inside.
3 Campers Injured in Harbor City Car Crash
The three people were injured in the crash. There was no report on the extent of the victims’ injuries.
A passenger in the involved vehicle was allegedly stabbed by a camper after they tried to run away from the scene. The 16-year-old was hospitalized with serious injuries.
The police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
