At Least 1 Seriously Injured in Escondido Car Accident on 15 Freeway
Escondido, California (September 23, 2019) – At least one person was hospitalized Friday afternoon with major injuries sustained in a three-car accident in Escondido.
The wreck was reported at about 12:25 p.m. Friday, September 20 on the 15 Freeway near Felicita Road and Citracado Parkway.
Authorities said a Land Cruiser was reportedly traveling a high rate of speed on the southbound 15 Freeway when it collided with a red Ford Mustang. The force of the impact caused the Land Cruiser to rollover. A third vehicle was believed to be involved in the accident.
At least one person sustained major injuries and was treated at the scene by emergency crews before being taken a hospital for further treatment. However, at this time, the name and condition of the patient were not disclosed.
All lanes were reopened by 1:46 p.m.
Meanwhile, the crash remains under investigation.
