Man Dies, 1 Hospitalized after Palmdale Trash Truck Crash at Avenue M and 20th Street East
Palmdale, California (September 19, 2019) – A person was killed and another was injured Thursday morning in a traffic accident involving a trash truck and small compact car in Palmdale, according to police.
The deadly wreck was reported at around 11:50 a.m. at the intersection of Avenue M and 20th Street East.
Police said a Waste Management truck was turning left from 20th Street east onto Avenue M when a Honda Fit crashed into the side of the truck.
The driver of the Honda, only identified as a 41-year-old man, was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the accident.
The operator of the truck was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The names of the deceased and injured parties have not yet been disclosed.
Police are still investigating the cause of the wreck.
