Person Dies, Another Hospitalized in Chatsworth Train Accident on Devonshire Street near Chatsworth Station

Chatsworth, California (September 19, 2019) – A person was struck and killed by an Amtrak train Wednesday night in Chatsworth, according to a local news report.
The deadly accident happened at around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, September 18 in a non-pedestrian area in the 21300 block of Devonshire Street, just north of the Chatsworth Station.
Authorities said the Amtrak Coast Starlight Train 11 was en route from Seattle to Los Angeles when it struck the person.
The victim was declared deceased at the scene. Another person was transported to a hospital, but it was unclear if that individual had been aboard the train. The condition of the patient at this time was not available.
None of the 151 passengers or crew members onboard the train was injured in the accident.
The names of the deceased and the injured parties have not yet been disclosed.
No further details were immediately provided.
The crash remains under investigation.
