1 Killed, 2 Injured in 15 Freeway Crash in Cajon Pass
1 Dies, 2 Hurt in Cajon Pass Car Accident on 15 Freeway between Oak Hill Road and Highway 138 Saturday night
Cajon Pass, California (August 4, 2019) – A person was killed and two others were injured Saturday night in a two-vehicle crash in Cajon Pass, according to a local news source.
At about 11:36 p.m. Saturday, August 3, authorities received a report regarding a traffic accident involving two vehicles on the southbound 15 freeway, between Oak Hill Road and Highway 138.
According to the CHP logs, a brown box-shaped SUV rear-ended a car for an unknown reason on the freeway. The SUV then went off the side of the highway about a half-mile north of the runaway truck ramp.
The vehicle that was hit from behind came to a stop near the entrance of the runaway truck ramp. There were three occupants in that car, and two had minor injuries.
The driver of the brown box-shaped SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
Al lanes of the freeway were shut down as authorities investigated the crash.
No further details were immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
