82-Year-Old Man Dies after Yuba County Crash on Hammonton-Smartsville Road at Dantoni Road

Yuba County, California (September 10, 2019) – Authorities are investigating a deadly crash that left an 82-year-old Marysville man dead on Monday morning in Yuba County.
The deadly collision occurred at about 9:05 a.m. Monday, September 9, on Hammonton-Smartsville Road at Dantoni Road.
According to authorities, 82-year-old Marysville man was traveling southbound on Dantoni Road in a 2010 Chevy when he made a turn onto Hammonton-Smartsville and into the path of a Freightliner heading west.
The Freightliner, reportedly hauling twin bottom-dump trailers, then struck the left side of the Chevy Tahoe. The impact caused the two cars to come into a halt in a dirt field, just south of Hammonton-Smartsville Road.
Fatal Freightliner Crash on Hammonton-Smartsville Road
Responding emergency crews declared the Tahoe driver dead as a result of the collision. His name was not immediately released awaiting notification of family.
The Freightliner operator sustained minor injuries and was treated at the crash site.
No other information concerning this crash was provided.
An investigation is underway.
