Motorcycle Rider Dies in Walnut Creek Crash at Highway 160 and Highway 220
Walnut Creek, California (October 14, 2019) – An elderly man was killed in a crash involving multiple vehicles on Saturday afternoon in the Walnut Creek area in Sacramento County.
According to the CHP, the crash took place at about 2:15 p.m. October 12, at Highway 160 and Highway 220.
CHP said a Ford pickup truck traveling on Highway 160 came upon two stopped vehicles at Highway 220. The driver tried to dodge the stopped vehicles and swerved into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a motorcycle rider. The impact pushed the rider into a second motorcyclist.
The impact of the crash ejected both motorcyclists from their motorcycles.
Rider Killed in Walnut Creek Motorcycle Crash
The first motorcycle rider, identified as a 70-year-old Stockton man, succumbed to his injuries while being airlifted to a hospital.
The other driver, a 73-year-old Stockton man, sustained minor injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
CHP said impairment was not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
