Man Dies in Redding Motorcycle Accident on E. Cypress Avenue

Redding, California (June 25, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision that happened on E. Cypress Avenue in Redding on Thursday afternoon, according to Redding police.

The collision occurred near Bechellie Lane just after 2 p.m.

Police said a Penske truck and a motorcycle were heading west on Cypress Avenue when the motorcyclist tried to pass the truck in the center turn lane while the truck was making a turn into Redding Subaru.

Man Killed in Redding Motorcycle Accident

The motorcycle collided with the driver’s side of the truck and was trapped beneath. The motorcycle was dragged into the parking lot by the truck and it caught fire.

The motorcyclist, identified as a 66-year-old man from Redding, was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The Redding Police Department is investigating the incident.
