Man Killed, Woman Injured in University Heights Crash with MTS Bus on Texas Street

San Diego, California (May 21, 2021) – A man was killed and a woman injured in a collision involving a Metropolitan Transit System bus in University Heights on Thursday evening, according to the San Diego Police Department.
At around 6:20 p.m. May 20, police said a 60-year-old man was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on Texas Street when, for unknown reasons, he drifted into the southbound side and collided with the oncoming bus.
The accident happened between Monroe and Madison avenues.
Man Killed in University Heights Bus Crash on Texas Street
The driver of the Chevrolet was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
A passenger on the bus, a 59-year-old woman, was also taken to the hospital for treatment of a bruise to her head.
The San Diego Police Department is investigating the incident.
