Pedestrian Dies in San Jose Accident on McKean Road near Country View Drive
San Jose, California (September 13, 2019) – A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene on Thursday morning in San Jose, according to the CHP.
The crash took place just after 9:30 a.m. September 12, on McKean Road south of Country View Drive.
CHP said a 58-year-old woman was walking southbound along the edge of northbound McKean Road when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle. She was thrown into a brush on the side of the road by the impact.
The driver failed to remain at the scene after the crash.
The victim was spotted minutes later by another motorist passing by.
Woman Dies in San Jose Pedestrian Accident
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by the authorities who responded to the incident.
Police found the right-side mirror believed to be for a Ford F-150 pickup and suspect it to be the involved vehicle.
The CHP is still conducting an investigation into the incident.
