Redwood City, California (May 26, 2021) – A San Jose man aged 51 was killed in an early Tuesday morning car crash that happened in Redwood City, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck occurred just before 4:00 a.m. May 25, on northbound U.S Highway 101 between Marsh Road and Woodside Road.

According to CHP, the San Jose man was driving a red Dodge pickup truck that was involved in a collision with a white Chrysler van.

The pickup came to a rest facing the wrong way on northbound US 101 and it was struck head-on by a Chevrolet Astro van.

The driver of the pickup died at the scene. His name was not immediately released.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 61-year-old Burlingame man, was hospitalized with a broken left hand.

The two occupants of the Chrysler were uninjured.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by the CHP.
