South Los Angeles, California (February 19, 2021) – Four people were injured Thursday evening in a fiery traffic accident involving an ice cream truck in South Los Angeles, according to a local news source.

The collision happened at around 6:05 p.m. Thursday, February 18, in the 6428 block of  South Normandie Avenue near Gage Avenue, authorities reported.

According to the authorities, the ice cream truck and a car collided for unknown reasons on South Normandie Avenue.

As a result of the collision, the ice cream truck flipped onto its side while the car burst into flames.

4 Injured in Crash Involving Ice Cream Truck in South Los Angeles Thursday

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extinguished the car fire. All occupants were able to exit the vehicle before the car when up in flames, authorities said.

A total of four people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the accident. Their names and condition were not immediately disclosed.

The crash remains under investigation.
