Bakersfield, California (November 26, 2020) – Three men were killed Wednesday night in a head-on collision in Bakersfield, according to a local news source.

The deadly accident occurred at about 10:02 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, on Highway 65, just north of Meadows Field Airport, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to the CHP, a Chrysler minivan was traveling southbound on Highway 65 when, for unknown reasons, it veered into the northbound lane and collided head-on with an oncoming Nissan Pathfinder.

Deadly Crash on Highway 65 in Bakersfield

Both male drivers and one passenger were killed in the accident. The names of the victims have not been disclosed pending notification of their next of kin.

Authorities said the two drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
