Woman Dies in Desert Hot Springs Accident on North Indian Canyon Drive near Mission Lakes Boulevard
Desert Hot Springs, California (July 23, 2021) – A woman was killed in a collision involving two vehicles in Desert Hot Springs on Thursday evening, according to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.
The incident happened shortly before 6 p.m. July 22, on North Indian Canyon Drive near Mission Lakes Boulevard.
According to police, a Kia was traveling eastbound on North Indian Canyon Drive when it swerved to the side for unknown reasons.
The driver then overcorrected and drifted into the path of oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a westbound pickup.
Woman Killed in Desert Hot Springs Head-On Crash
A passenger in the Kia, identified as a 27-year-old woman, died in the collision.
The driver of the Kia, a 28-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
The other driver complained of pain and was evaluated at the scene.
North Indian Canyon Drive was closed for hours as crews worked at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
