27 Hurt in Sacramento Train Collision near Roseville Road and Del Pass Park
Sacramento, California (August 23, 2019) – Several people were injured when two trains collided on Thursday night in Sacramento, according to a local news source.
The wreck happened at about 9:40 p.m. August 21, near Roseville Road and Del Pass Park.
Authorities said a Sacramento Regional Transit light rail train collided with a maintenance train.
27 people were onboard the light rail train while three employees were in the maintenance train.
The employees were unhurt but the occupants of the other train were injured. 13 victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
No further details were released.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
