Two Killed in Pinole Car Accident on Interstate 80 near Appian Way
Pinole, California (December 17, 2019) – Two people were killed Monday night in a wrong-way, head-on crash in Pinole, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The double fatal accident was reported at around 11:43 p.m. Monday, December 16 on eastbound Interstate Highway 80, just west of Appian Way.
Two people died in the collision. Their names have not been disclosed pending notification of family.
No other injuries were immediately reported.
Details of what led up to the crash are unknown at this time.
All lanes of eastbound Interstate Highway 80 were closed following the crash. As of 3:37 a.m., the lanes were cleared.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
