Visalia, California (May 13, 2019) – Two people were killed Monday morning in a traffic accident just north of Visalia, according to a local news source.

The deadly crash occurred at about 7:45 a.m. at Highway 63 (Dinuba Boulevard) and Avenue 336, just north of Visalia city limits.

According to California Highway Patrol, a car collided head-on with a big rig truck for an unknown reason. As a result of the crash, the car was lodged underneath the tanker.

Two people in the car were pronounced dead at the scene. The names of the victims have not been disclosed pending notification of family.

The crash caused fuel from the truck to leak on the roadway. The CHP officers closed the roads as they investigate the accident and clear the spill.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
