Bakersfield, California (February 19, 2021) – Two people were killed and two others were seriously injured Wednesday night in a single-vehicle traffic accident in Bakersfield, according to a local news source.

The deadly crash occurred at around 10:25 p.m. Wednesday , February 17, on Ming Avenue, authorities said.

According to the authorities, a vehicle was traveling on Ming Avenue when, for unknown reasons, it veered off the roadway and crashed into a utility pole. It then struck another object.

The impact caused the vehicle to split into two.

Deadly Car Accident on Ming Avenue in Bakersfield

A man was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.  A woman was found inside the vehicle and was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other men were transported to Kern Medical with major injuries.  The names of the deceased victims and the injured parties have not been disclosed.

It remains unclear whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident.
