San Diego, California (April 7, 2019) – Two people were injured Wednesday afternoon in a traffic accident in San Diego, according to a local news report.

The crash took place at about 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3 on Interstate 805, just north of Governor Avenue.

As per the report, a white four-door Toyota was hit from behind by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 805. The force of the impact caused the Toyota to flip onto its roof on the side of the bustling freeway.

Police along with paramedics responded to the crash site to provide medical aid to two parties who were injured as a result of the crash. One of the victims was then rushed to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.

The other patient sustained minor injuries. The names and condition of the victims at this time were not immediately provided.

Investigators believed the big rig driver was likely at fault. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
