Bakersfield, California (July 5, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a traffic collision that left two people injured on Sunday morning in Bakersfield.

The accident happened in the area of Patton Way and Norris Road at about 10:08 a.m. July 4.

A white Mazda and a black Dodge Challenger are reported to have collided in the area for unknown reasons.

The impact of the collision sent one vehicle off the roadway where it crashed into a residential building.

The CHP said at least two people were injured in the crash and were hospitalized in unknown condition.

The authorities were at the scene to access the structural damage to the building.
