Banning, California (July 31, 2021) – Two men in their 20’s from Big Bear were killed when a plane crashed Friday morning in Banning, authorities said.

The deadly plane crash happened at about 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 30, in a vacant lot northwest of Banning Municipal Airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane went down under unclear circumstances near Ramsey and Hathaway Streets.

The crash sparked a fire that was quickly extinguished by firefighters.

Deadly Plane Crash in Banning

The two men on board the plane were killed in the crash. The names of the victims have not been disclosed pending notification of their respective families.

Nobody on the ground was injured.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
