South Carolina Motorcyclist Dies in Carlsbad Crash on 5 Freeway near Las Flores Road

Carlsbad, California (September 11, 2019) – A South Carolina teen was killed in a motorcycle collision with a car in Carlsbad on Wednesday morning, according to the CHP.

The fatal accident happened at about 6:47 a.m. on Interstate 5 Freeway at Las Flores Drive.

As per the report, a 19-year-old South Carolina man was driving a BMW two-wheeler on the freeway when he lost control, for unknown reasons, and fell onto the roadway. He was then hit by an oncoming Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by a 42-year-old Oceanside man.

South Carolina Rider Killed in Carlsbad Motorcycle Crash on 5 Freeway

The rider was transported to a local hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.

The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.

No further information was provided.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
