1 Suffers Major Injuries in Auburn Car Accident at Highway 49 and Willow Creek Drive

Auburn, California (September 24, 2019) – One person was hospitalized Monday afternoon after a multi-car accident in Auburn, according to a local news report.
The crash, which was reported at around 5:19 p.m. Monday, September 23, happened in the area of Highway 49 and Willow Creek Drive and involved three vehicles. Highway 49 is also known as Grass Valley Highway.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota pickup truck, a Toyota sedan and a white Mazda MX-5 collided on southbound Highway 49 at Willow Creek Drive for reasons still under investigation.
As a result of the crash, the 2-door Mazda MX-5 sustained moderate side damage.

Paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid to one person who suffered major injuries in the crash. The patient was then taken to the hospital for further treatment. The name and condition of the victim at this time were not immediately available.
The road was cleared shortly after 6:30 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
