1 Killed, 1 Injured in Grapevine Car Crash on 5 Freeway near Grapevine Road
Grapevine, California (April 5, 2021) – One person was killed in a car crash that left at least one person injured in Grapevine on Sunday morning, April 4.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 3:07 a.m. on Interstate 5 Freeway near Grapevine Road.
A man was driving a 2010 Nissan northbound on Interstate 5 at a high rate of speed and was attempting to overtake a Freightliner.
The authorities said the driver of the Nissan failed to stop for unknown reasons and crashed into the Freightliner.
The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. His identity was not immediately disclosed.
The driver of the Freightliner, 48-year-old Gerardo Q. Camarena, suffered minor injuries in the accident.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
