Bicyclist Struck and Killed by Car on Di Giorgio Road near Myrtle Avenue in Lamont
Lamont, California (December 14, 2020) – A bicyclist died after being struck by a car in Lamont on Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 12:40 a.m. on Di Giorgio Road near Myrtle Avenue.
A man had been riding a white Huffy bicycle westbound on Di Giorgio Road when he was struck by a Volkswagen Passat that was also traveling westbound.
The impact of the collision ejected the rider from his bicycle.
The bicyclist, a 43-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 19-year-old driver of the Passat was unhurt.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
