Desert Hot Springs, California (April 16, 2019) – One person was killed and three others were injured in a traffic accident just outside Desert Hot Springs Tuesday afternoon.

The deadly possibly head-on collision, which was reported at about 2:20 p.m., happened near Mountain View Road and 20th Avenue.

Details are extremely limited at this time and its unknown what caused the crash.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.  Three other people were transported to a hospital. One of the patients was in serious condition and the others had minor injuries.

The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed.

Mountain View Road from Dillon Road to Clubhouse Drive was shut down following the crash.

No other details were immediately provided. The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
