Man Killed, 2 Seriously Injured in Santa Clara County Car Accident on Highway 152 near Lake Road

Santa Clara County, California (September 19, 2019) – One person was killed and two others were injured on Wednesday morning in a head-on crash near San Felipe Lake in unincorporated southern Santa Clara County, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The fatal accident, which was reported at around 7:57 a.m. September 18, happened on State Highway 152, just east of Lake Road near the border with San Benito County.
The CHP said a 31-year-old Fresno man was driving a 2000 Ford westbound on Highway 152 at approximately 60 miles per hour when for an unknown reason, he allowed his vehicle to cross over the solid double yellow lines and collided head-on with an eastbound 2014 Toyota.

The driver of the Toyota, a 27-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene and his male passenger was transported by ambulance to the hospital with major injuries.
The driver of the Ford was airlifted to a hospital with major injuries.
The names of the deceased and the injured parties have not been disclosed.
Highway 152 was closed for four hours as the investigation and cleanup took place.
It’s undetermined if alcohol or drugs were suspected factors in the accident.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
