1 Injured in Merced Truck Accident on Highway 99 near Le Grand Road
Merced, California (June 19, 2020) – One person was hospitalized after being injured in a traffic collision in Merced on Thursday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 12:30 p.m. June 18, on Highway 99 near Le Grand Road.
A big rig was traveling northbound on Highway 99 when it drifted to the right shoulder and crashed into a disabled sedan.
The big rig reportedly overturned after the collision.

The big rig driver sustained minor injuries in the accident and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
About 40 gallons of fuel and hazardous material believed to be some type of pool chemical were spilled on the roadway.
The highway was closed for at least three hours as the authorities conducted a cleanup.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
